I've been reading reviews of the movie "Inception" and realized the movie highlights some of the very thoughts I have been trying to convey in this blog: Our dreams create our reality. Evidently in the movie the hero has trouble distinguishing between what are his dreams and waking reality. But, the truth is that dreams are a window into our subconscious and the subconscious does not limit itself to real or unreal but simply what we present to it. Or put simply, our dreams become our reality.

We tend to limit ourselves to thinking that dreaming occurs only while we sleep, but we dream constantly in the waking state. Don't believe me? Then what are "daydreams?" In the clinical sense our brainwaves slow and we enter the Theta brain state which is somewhere between actual sleep and full consciousness. In Theta is where we are most creative and subject to thought switching. We do this all the time and that is part of the reason some people say they get some of their best ideas while doing freeway driving or out running.
In an earlier post I asked you to think about where were you when you felt the most happy? What was your proudest moment and how did that feel? When did you feel safe and cared for and what was happening at the time. I would like you to go back to one of those times and really explore and enjoy how you felt at that moment. As you relive that moment, gently take one hand and stroke the other. Do this several times until you are able to call up one of those feelings every time you rub one hand over the other. Now, think of some goal you previously felt was out of reach and gently rub one hand over the other. What you accomplish is putting yourself into a dream state (not sleep) that allows your mind free reign to focus in a positive way to work on this situation and find a way to match those feelings to the situation at hand. Become your dreams...
